You have outgrown your current provider and want more control over your brand and payments. This move requires moving from a payment provider own Direct Debit facility to your own and is one of the more complex migrations as it involves so many elements.

Whatever the reason, you are wanting to move from your current Bacs Bureau or Bacs software to another provider. You may be at the early stages and need help with the selection or just need to get the move done. We will support this process to de-risk the process and provide independent support.

This is for organisations that are still running paper-based Direct Debit mandates and are looking to move to electronic, so they offer online sign-up , telephone and become more efficient in the setup and administration of the Direct Debit process. This is known as an Auddis Migration and requires implementation with your Bank and Bacs Bureau or Bacs Software.
More information can be found on the Bacs website

You may operate multiple Service User Numbers and combining the process or looking to change key details for all your payers. This is known as a Direct Debit Bulk Change and the processes are outlined within the Service User Guide & Rules and any change will be agreed with your Sponsoring Bank.

A Direct Debit migration might not be the answer. It is important to understand your challenges, processes and any performance issues to diagnose if a Direct Debit migration is the right choice.

In most cases, if your Service User Number (SUN) or SEPA Creditor ID remains the same and the payment instruction does not change, customers do not need to take action. However, it is best practice to confirm this with your sponsoring bank and consider whether a communication would provide reassurance.
Timelines vary depending on the type of migration, but most projects take between 6 to 12 weeks. More complex migrations, such as moving to your own SUN or changing multiple providers can take longer due to banking setup, testing, and data preparation.
Yes. If you already have your own SUN, you can typically retain it when switching software or bureau provider. This significantly reduces risk, as existing mandates remain valid and do not need to be re-authorised. Having your own SUN is important - please do not give this up to move to a FM facility.
An AUDDIS migration involves moving from paper-based Direct Debit mandates to electronic instructions. This allows organisations to set up Direct Debits online or over the phone, improving efficiency and reducing administration.
Common risks include disruption to collections, data or mandate issues, submission failures, and poor cutover planning. Without the right approach, these risks can impact income and supporter experience.
Yes. With the right planning, testing, and cutover approach, most migrations can be completed without disruption. However, this depends on factors such as your setup, provider, and how the migration is managed.
